An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured by the website operator on booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard.
The balance is payable directly to the supplier on arrival. Payments for extensions may be subject to an administration fee.

In order to allow our branches to maximize the potential of their fleet, we must insist that all bookings for airport branches are made giving the correct flight number and arrival time. If we do not have this information, we will not confirm the booking. We can no longer accept provisional bookings. Any flight changes must be reported to our reservations team or airport branch.
Delayed flights will be met until 11pm. It is imperative that customers contact the rental branch to advise of any delays in order that they can confirm arrangements for the collection of the vehicle. There will be an additional ‘out of hours’ charge of £100 to meet a delayed flight after the office closes up to 11pm. Any delays after this time will not be met and arrangements will be made to collect the vehicle the following morning.
1 HOUR BEFORE CLOSURE OF BRANCH
Any flight due to land within the last hour will now be subject to an additional charge of £50.00
OUT OF HOURS – IMPORTANT INFORMATION
There will be a charge of £100 to meet customers after the branch closes up to 11pm, we are unable to meet customers after this time. A driver proposal form must be completed and returned 48 hours before the hire is due to start. If payment is not received at least 24 hours before the hire is due to start, the customer will not be met.
DROP OFF AT AIRPORT ONSITE CAR PARK
Vehicles can be returned directly to an airport onsite car park with prior notice for an additional charge of £30 this is to cover car parking costs.

FLIGHTS ARRIVING WITHIN ONE HOUR OF CLOSING WILL REQUIRE AN OUT OF HOURS CHARGE OF £50.
OPERATING HOURS - The last shuttle bus return will be half an hour before branch closing time.
Please note all branches are at off-airport locations and clients should be made aware of this fact.
Upon arrival, clients should proceed to baggage collection, collect their luggage and go to the courtesy telephones marked “off airport rentals” to inform the branch of their arrival.
Customers should return to the branch and the shuttle bus will transport them to the airport. Please allocate sufficient time to get to the branch and onto the airport. The branch cannot be held responsible for customers who arrive late for the shuttle bus and miss their check-in.
AIRPORT SECURITY CHARGE
Due to ongoing security restrictions at all airports a £8 charge is added to all bookings at booking stage. It will show as Airport Security charge and will only be added once, not on arrival and departure.
INSURANCE and DRIVING LICENCE
The price of a rental from Arnold Clark is inclusive of insurance. An excess will be charged for any vehicle accident damage however, an optional excess waiver can be purchased (subject to qualification).
Our Insurance Covers
Full repairs to the rental vehicle in the event of a road traffic accident (excluding excess).
Unlimited third-party liability (including passengers in the hired vehicle). Theft of your vehicle and its accessories (excluding excess).
Cover would default if the necessary security precautions were not implemented i.e. if the keys were left in the ignition or the radio front was left in the vehicle.
We reserve the right to increase the excess with each incident.
The standard excess for all cars which is £750
Our Insurance Does Not Cover
Theft of property within the vehicle.
Driver of the hired vehicle's personal injury or loss of life (their own insurance would have to cover this).
Our Excess Waiver Does Not Cover
Lost or damaged keys or damage to the interior of the vehicle
Damage to the vehicle caused by hitting low level objects such as bridges or low branches, or damage caused by failure to pay due care and attention to potential hazards on the road such as deep water or debris.
Costs following a road traffic accident where our vehicle has to be recovered from an off-road location and there is no third party involved. Customers will also be responsible for any costs incurred by putting the wrong type of fuel in the vehicle.
In any of these instances, you will be responsible for the full costs of repair or replacement.
UK drivers should bring their valid driving licence (original copies only) and two further forms of identification, one of which must include proof of address. This can be two bills or one bill and another form of photographic identification, preferably a passport. Acceptable documents include utility bills and bank or credit card statements issued within the last three months.
All UK drivers (excluding Northern Ireland) should also bring their access code from the DVLA, which you can acquire from the DVLA’s online Share Driving Licence system.
EU drivers must possess a driving licence and either a passport or ID card. Drivers outwith the EU must possess a valid domestic driving licence with English translation. If English translation is not available, an international driving permit is required in addition to a domestic driving licence. A passport must also accompany a domestic driving licence.
Licence must be valid for the current period of the rental and have been held for at least 4 years.
A licence may have a restriction to the number of seats on a vehicle, which the licence holder is entitled to drive. For most European countries this is 8 plus driver.
Any penalty points should be notified.
Please note: We will provide cover for theft of our rental vehicles; however, clients will still have to pay the agreed excess amount should the vehicle be stolen. This excess remains payable to us despite the purchase of Excess Waiver.
The price quoted includes 2 x drivers. A further 2 x additional drivers may be added for a charge of £5 per driver per day, capped at £50 provided they meet all the insurance requirements and have a valid driving licence. A maximum number of drivers on any rental is 4. Excess will remain at £750 and can be reduced to zero with the purchase of excess waiver.
A minimum £100 fuel deposit is required on all hires, full deposit requirements will be confirmed at the time of vehicle collection. Customers who place their reservations over the phone will be informed of the deposit requirements at the time of booking. Deposits are required to be paid at the branch and cannot be paid in cash.
If vehicles are returned in an unacceptable condition the branches are within their rights to add a valet charge.
Current legislation for all children under 135cm or less than 12 years of age requires them to use a correct baby seat or booster cushion. These can be rented for £1 per day (maximum £28). Please refer to our website showing sizes of car seats. www.arnoldclarkrental.com
SAT NAVS (GPS )
We can offer Satellite Navigation Systems for £10 per day (capped at £50). These MUST be requested at time of booking.
All vehicles will be supplied with full tanks and should be returned with the same. If not a 20% refueling surcharge will be applied. There is an option to purchase the tank of fuel on collection of the vehicle.
ONE-WAY HIRES BETWEEN BRANCHES
There will be a charge to drop a vehicle off at another branch outwith the same town/city.
Up to 7 days - £25 for cars and £50 for all specialist vehicles (autos, estate cars and MPVs).
7-13 days - £12.50 for cars and £25 for all specialist vehicles (autos, estate cars and MPV’s)
14 days plus – Free of charge on all vehicles
In the event of cancellation the initial deposit paid remains non-refundable.
Up to one working days notice – no further charge.
Less than one working days notice – 1 day’s car rental will be charged (price dependent on which car group has been booked).
PARKING TICKETS, BUS LANE AND CONGESTION CHARGES
These are the liability of the hirer. When the customer signs the Rental Agreement they do sign to accept liability. We will pass customer details on to the relevant authority who will pursue the claim. Where Arnold Clark incurs any charges an admin charge of £30 will be applied. Bus lane fines will be paid by Arnold Clark and client charged directly.

Glasgow City Centre (South Street) has 5 key collection points including Central and Queen Street train stations.

Terms of booking on this website
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
